Mr. Md. Enayet Kabir Sarkar, District and Sessions Judge, joined this district on 05.11.2024 AD. He is an officer of the 22nd BCS cadre of Bangladesh Judicial Service. He has been serving as a judge in the Bangladesh Judicial Department for more than 22 years. During his educational career, he obtained L.L.B (Hons.) and L.L.M degrees from Rajshahi University. He is currently doing MPhil research on anti-terrorism cases in the law department of the same university. His native district is Bogra. Earlier, he worked as an Assistant Judge, Senior Assistant Judge, Joint District and Sessions Judge, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Judge (District and Sessions Judge), and Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal in various districts. He served as Senior District and Sessions Judge, Pabna and Judge (Senior District and Sessions Judge), Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Moulvibazar. In his judicial career, he has gained experience in criminal trials, anti-terrorism tribunal cases, legal research, evidence analysis and ensuring justice. He has been providing effective judicial services through court management, judicial activities and coordination with law enforcement agencies. He has received various trainings at home and abroad. Among them, various trainings on judicial administration, case management, anti-terrorism law, investigation and trial procedures in India, Australia and the United States are notable. In addition, he has participated in training programs and served as a trainer for various organizations including OPDAT, JATI, BPAT. He has conducted various workshops on charge sheets, investigation and trial procedures related to anti-terrorism cases and provided training to various government officials, lawyers and law students. He also has experience in conducting mock trials and academic sessions on anti-terrorism cases in the Law Department of Rajshahi University. His professional affiliations include being a former member of the Bangladesh Bar Council, a member of the Rajshahi University Law Alumni Association and a member of the Commonwealth Magistrates' and Judges' Association. He has also contributed to legal publications. One of the notable achievements of his career is the “President Border Guard Medal of Service (PBGMS)” national award. His areas of special interest are anti-terrorism law, money laundering law, evidence law, judicial procedure and investigation process. Overall, he is a judge with a long experience, who has acquired special experience in judicial expertise, legal research, training and anti-terrorism justice.
